Rock Service Station

Built along side the rock bunkhouses during the 1930s, the service station allowed motorist to an opportunity to rest and refuel before continuing their journey down SR 26 which, at the time, passed through LaCrosse.
A fire in the attic after a remodel rendered the building useless and now it sits with the west wall leaning inward as if it might collapse at any moment.
LCP will begin demolition and reconstruction of the service station in the fall of 2023. It will permanently house the Ice Age Exhibit and Heritage Museum after its completion.
