Ice Age Floods and Heritage Center

​LaCrosse's unique landscape - where sheer basalt cliffs meet rolling hills of fertile soil - was shaped thousands of years ago be repeated glacial flooding. These natural features create ideal conditions for raising sheep and cattle, as well as growing wheat, making agriculture central to the town's identity. LaCrosse's history is deeply rooted in this agricultural heritage.
